Design Challenge:
The biggest challenge in this space was to remove the papier-mâché wallcovering without taking the walls down with it. The bowling alley length of this space was also going to be difficult to furnish.
Design Solution: The homeowners wished for a calm, soothing color palette and shied away from putting too much color on the walls. Once the papier-mâché wallcovering was off in one piece, Molaia Design chose varying shades of cream paint to cover most of the woodwork and walls throughout the home. Space planning revealed the room could accommodate a medium-sized sectional for family comfort, as well as an arm chair and ottoman for additional seating. A slight bohemian style was introduced through various colors and furnishings to compliment the couple’s existing art work.
