Design Challenge:
The family in this 1980s built suburban home wanted their fireplace to become the focal point of their family room. They also wanted storage for their new TV, shelving for books and family photos, plus a lockable liquor cabinet.
Design Solution: Molaia Design began by designing a custom cabinet system around the existing fireplace to added drama and function to an otherwise lackluster space. Multi-colored, cultured stone was used to resurface the fireplace façade and taken to the ceiling to ensure the fireplace as the focal point of the family room. New accessories, a swivel stand for the flat screen TV and a lockable liquor cabinet were the finishing touches to this stunning remodel.
