About Molaia Design

"Molly rocks. What used to look "cluttered eclectic" now looks elegant and gorgeous. Now I'm sitting in my colorful, sophisticated-yet-welcoming home admiring the genius of Molly's suggestions and appreciating her knowledge of critical details."
- Katie P., Minnetonka

"We got more than our money's worth in hiring Molly. Over the course of the 10 months we worked with Molly, she was warm and friendly, very professional, and very eager for us to get the room that best fit us. She truly got to know our personalities, and it was always a treat to see her again. We will definitely use Molly again in our next big decorating project."
- Beth C., Minneapolis

"Molly was great to work with and we would work with her again. She did a great job of listening to all of our wants, needs, and ideas to in turn incorporate them into the design. She had creative ideas that gave our kitchen character while also ensuring the look fit in with the rest of the house. Wading through the sea of paint color, tile, wallpaper, plumbing fixtures, lighting and other finishes was much easier with her help. We love the end product and our kitchen and bath get rave reviews!"
-Chandra S., Minneapolis

Molly Kerr, owner and principal designer of Molaia Design, started her career designing custom window treatments, bedding and decorative pillows. Eventually, her clients began asking for additional assistance, such as color consultation, furniture selection and material specification. It quickly became apparent that Molly would have to branch out on her own in order to better service her clients; thus, the creation of Molaia Design.

Molly received a Bachelor of Science in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 1997. After living and working in New Jersey for the next four years, she returned to Minnesota and obtained another Bachelor of Science degree, this time in interior design. Molly believes her interior design education has provided her with the foundation knowledge of the health, safety, and welfare issues effecting design projects and their clients today. She works to expand that knowledge through continuing education, research and industry involvement in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She is also working towards becoming a certified interior designer; a certificate awarded to those who pass the rigorous National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam. Passage of this test signifies the hallmark of professionalism in the interior design community and alerts the public to the expertise and experience of the designer who has met this challenge.
